Our Board
MOP is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of leaders from dues
paying member organizations. Member organizations nominate board
members who are then elected for one year terms. Terms are one year
with the option of running for another year. Board membership is also
open to the appointment of community leaders whom the board believes
can assist in the building of our organization. An Executive Board
comprised of a Chair, Chair emeritus (past chair), Treasurer and
Secretary is elected from the Board by democratic vote. The Board meets
every 6-8 weeks with the Executive Board meeting between as needed.
Both the Executive Board and Board are accountable to their member
congregations/groups and thus membership of MOP, through their local
organizing committees who they represent at the board level. The Board
is the policy making body of MOP. They hire and fire the Director and
oversee finances, fundraising, and membership. Board members
participate in our donor drives and review grants.
